Scheme Title:
Tadcaster, Toulston, Toulston Lodge 1137 – ESQCR (Divert and U/G section of 11kV O/H Line)
Scheme Description:
An inspection of 11kV o/h line A0299, found there were safety clearance issues with the proximity of conductors and structures to buildings that contravened those recommended in the current ESQCR Regulations.
Overhead line A0299, a 3x.1 CE/C/31 construction, forms part of the Warren Ln Pry 1010 – Papyrus Villas LSI 8562 11kV feeder. Between terminal pole A0299/01-1 and inter pole A0299/01-2, an assortment of chicken shed type structures have been erected under the conductors and adjacent to the terminal pole. Safety clearances from the sheds to the conductors and the cable box terminations have been reduced below those recommended. They could also assist with the climbing of the terminal pole.
To eliminate the problem it is proposed to shorten the line back by 70m to a position where a new terminal pole can be erected that will be acceptable to the landowner. From here, approximately 115m 3x 1c 185AIT XLPE 11kV cable would be laid along the field edge and roadside verge to a position were it will be straight jointed onto the existing terminal pole 3c 300AI CAS 11kV cable trail. The offending span and terminal pole can then be removed.
A Generation Cost/Benefit analysis is not required for this scheme. A Hot Glove disconnection can be carried out at a convenient section pole between terminal pole A0299/01-1 and the tee to Lucene Farm 1154 allowing the work to be done without affecting any customers.
